Two days in London with Andy

As you will have already read we arrived in London after an unforgetable week in Turkey and went our separate ways. Garey and I met up with Andy and her friend Del for two days. We managed some shopping in Oxford Street at the sales, a night at Les Miserables and a harbour cruise to Greenwich.
Andy had told us she worked near Waterloo station by Big Ben but until we went there we had no idea quite how close she meant. The photo of her with the river and Big Ben in the background are taken outside her hospital.
Les Mis was great, we had seen it before in Melbourne and loved it so wanted to see it again. Before the show we went to China Town for tea. Had not had crsipy duck pancakes before but the girls said they were great. I had to convince myself it was chicken and then could enjoy them.
On our last we we took the cruise along the Thames to Greenwich. Greenwich is historically where Greenwich Mean Time comes from although Tristan has since informed us that in 1971 GMT ceased being the standard for time and now it is International Atomic Time based in France. It was still very cool to be there. Greenwich is at 0 degrees longitude.
About 5pm Garey and I left Del and Andy at the Putney Tube Station for our trip to Heathrow and the girls went home to pack for the Glastonbury Music Festival. It was sad to part but they have so many exciting things planned it is hard to stay sad for too long. We were off for three days in Dubai.

Home again

We have now been home four days - we are still trying to catch up on our sleep and get back into the routine of work and being at home. We had a great time and will enjoy looking through our many photos and sharing the memories. Until next time then, this is the end of the blog from us.
